In the past month a few new EP's and albums have been released that deserve checking out.
Rixton - Me and My Broken Heart EP
Rixton are a British band who gained popularity through youtube with their amazing covers. Shout out to Nathan Sykes from The Wanted for introducing them to Scooter Braun. In October they released the hilarious video for their song Make Out which helped them lead up to this EP release. Their new single Me and my Broken Heart has been blowing up the radio recently. Go check the full length EP. All the songs are incredible. If thats not enough the fact that Ed Sheeran co-wrote on a song on the album should be.

The Pretty Reckless - Going to Hell
This album is not for the close minded. I was nervous when getting this because their first album was so good that i wasn't sure how they could follow up but holy crap this one is so good. It explores the thoughts and actions people take in their lives that would "send somebody to hell". People just assume that this is devil worshipping music but that is so far from the truth. They write songs that to some are controversial but the topics are very real in this world. There are songs on this cd for everyone, even the "safe" people.

5 Seconds of Summer - She Looks So Perfect EP
5 Seconds of Summer are a band from Australia and chances are if your daughters aren't talking about them now they probably won't be. One Direction took them on tour last year and will be touring with them again this year. In some ways that is good but with that they may have just lost their "band image" and jumped straight into "boyband". It's not exactly hardcore to tour with 1D. With this EP i had very high expectations and I'm not really sure that they were met. Thats not to say that this is not a good EP. It is. But they can do better. With that being said, She Looks So Perfect won't be out of my head for a while.
MKTO - MKTO
You may not know who MKTO are but chances are you have sang along to their song Classic without even knowing who they are. I have very high hopes for these boys and truly believe they will go very far. They recently toured with Emblem3 and were very well received by the crowd. They cd recently came out and immediately went to the top of the charts on iTunes in tons of countries.
