March 14 to many is know as π day .... you know ... 3.14159265359 ... the math kind of pi.
Of course, being a long time Hanson fan , I mainly know March 14th to be Taylor Hanson's birthday.
(P.s. Happy 31st birthday, Taylor!)
But what is really important here is pie .... with an "e"
This pie recipe is a concoction my mom came up with and it is awesome and I'm going to share it with you!
You can make your own pie crust if you choose, but this time I used a store bought unbaked pie shell

In a mixing bowl, cream sugar and butter.
Add egg, corn syrup, salt
Add bourbon (your choice of what kind) and vanilla
Spread Pecans and chocolate chips in bottom of the prepared pie shell
Pour filling over pecans and chips
Bake in preheated oven 375° for 40-45 minutes or until set.
Ingredients list:
1 c. sugar
4 T. butter, melted
3 eggs, slightly beaten
3/4 c. light corn syrup
1/4 tsp. salt
3 T. bourbon
1/2 c. pecans, chopped
1/2 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips ( substitute if you wish, I used dark chocolate for this pie)
1 unbaked pie shell
